Avian Influenza: State, National and Worldwide Response Video [VT-090] $27.50 $15.00
Avian Influenza: State, National and Worldwide Response Video

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization, and other high level public health data sources, there is a serious threat of an avian (bird) flu pandemic that would have a tremendous global public health impact.

In this one-hour program, Dr. Barbara Wallace and Dr. Perry Smith address the impact of an influenza pandemic on public health organizations and communities at the state, federal, and international levels. This program was originally broadcast from the University at Albany Center for Public Health Preparedness.

Program objectives include:

  • Understanding the impact of a world-wide avian influenza outbreak
  • Recognizing the extensive planning needs required to deal with a pandemic
  • Recognizing established phases of a pandemic and perceived responses to each

For additional reference materials or handouts for this program, please visit the University at Albany website.

For more information on avian influenza or pandemics, please visit the CDC website.

Hand Hygiene is the first line of defense against a pandemic. Please refer to the hand hygiene section for related materials.
